1. Summary
Khmer Calendar is a calendar application that converts Gregorian dates to the Khmer lunar
calendar, the Buddhist Era year, the Khmer cyclic year (animal & Sak), and the Chinese
lunar calendar. It also shows Cambodian public holidays.
This app does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data.
2. Data we collect
None. The app does not collect any of the following:
- Name, email, phone number, or any account information
- Location (GPS or IP-based)
- Device identifiers (advertising ID, IMEI, etc.)
- Contacts, calendar, photos, microphone, camera, or any device sensors
- Usage analytics or crash reports
- Cookies or tracking pixels
3. Data we store on your device
The app stores only the following locally on your device, never transmitted anywhere:
- Your selected language (Khmer / English / Chinese)
- Your selected theme (light / dark)
- Your selected week-start preference (Sunday / Monday)
- Whether you have dismissed the install banner
- Optional, opt-in only: Women's health data — if you choose to
enable the "Women's health" feature in Settings, the app stores menstrual cycle
information (period start/end dates, cycle length, and profile name) on your
device. This is never transmitted, never sent to any server, never shared with
any third party. Disabling the feature and removing the data is available at
any time from Settings.
- Optional, opt-in only: Weather location preference — if you
use the Weather feature, the app stores either (a) your selected city name and
its coordinates, or (b) the most recent location you allowed via GPS, on your
device only. This is used to fetch weather forecasts. See section 4 for what is
sent over the network.
These are saved using your device's standard local storage and never leave your device.
Uninstalling the app removes all of them.
4. Network use
The app works offline by default. There are exactly two network endpoints
the app may contact:
- Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) — fetches the
Khmer typeface (Noto Sans Khmer) on first launch only, then caches it. Sends only your
IP address and standard User-Agent.
- Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com) — only when you use the Weather
feature. The app sends the latitude and longitude of either (a) the city you picked,
or (b) your device's GPS location if you granted permission. It sends only the
coordinates, a timezone identifier, and the standard User-Agent — no name, no device
identifier, no account information. Open-Meteo is a free public weather service that does
not require an API key. See

If you do not use the Weather feature, no weather requests are made. If you deny location
permission and do not pick a city, no weather requests are made.
5. Permissions
On Android, the app requests these permissions:
INTERNET — only used for the font request described above; not used to send any user dataRECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — used by the home-screen widget so it shows today's date again after the phone is restarted
The app does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, storage, or any other sensitive permission.
6. Children
The app is appropriate for all ages and is not directed at children under 13 in a way that
collects any data. Because no data is collected, no special children's-data rules apply.
7. Third-party services
The app does not use Firebase, Google Analytics, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs,
social-login SDKs, or any other third-party service that collects user data.
8. Changes to this policy
If this app ever begins collecting data in the future (for example, to add cloud sync or
push notifications), this page will be updated and the change will be noted in the app's
release notes on Google Play.
